Unit 4 Activity 3 - Pupil profile
Context
For this module I have re-written a pupil profile of a child
I teach - Richard. I have then looked at aspects of ICT in his Individual
Education Plan.
Method
I first redid Richard's class profile having a go at
scanning in his photograph - I found it difficult to position with the text but
once achieved, I think I may have a go at scanning in photographs of the whole
class.
I copied in Richard's Individual Education Plan which is an
overview from which more specific targets and programmes in each curriculum
area are written.
I modified Richard's computer access profile sheet which is
invaluable for staff as a record of his key targets and his positioning at the
computer.
I then did a couple of crib sheets of current software that
Richard is working on.
From the above information I then wrote some key learning
objectives for Richard in two areas of ICT. It is important to remember that
Richard is operating at P1(ii) of the P scales so his targets are at the very
earliest stages of development.
Results
I now have a much clearer picture of where Richard is
operating within the ICT curriculum (he also has an assessment of his skills)
and I have used and developed a number of my own ICT skills to reach this
point.
Reflections
I have found the exercise extremely useful and it gives a
comprehensive overview of Richard which all classroom staff will find
beneficial when working with Richard in the area of ICT.
