Ann Sydney
Advisory teacher in ICT/SEN
Ann works for the Centre for micro-assisted communication
(Cenmac) assessing pupils and advising teachers in special and in mainstream
schools across London. Her most recent teaching experience has been as a SENCO
in mainstream secondary, where pupils with a range of special needs were
included. She has also worked in a pupil referral unit, behaviour support team,
teacher training college and adult education before joining Cenmac as an
advisory teacher in l997.
Ann has been involved in writing and delivering training
since the l970's at school, LEA level and across boroughs, to teachers, trainee
teachers, parents and support staff. She has produced and delivered training on
ICT and literacy, numeracy, as well as on specific software and hardware for
Cenmac's training programme. This has involved school staff, parents, governors
and pupils across all phases.
Besides a B.ScHons degree and PGCE, Ann also has a
postgraduate diploma in the education and psychology of children with special
educational needs, and a master's degree in educational management,
specialising in inclusion. She is an OFSTED endorsed inspector for special
needs.
