Bob Black

Education Information Officer, Down's Syndrome Association

Bob Black is currently the Education Information Officer for the Down's Syndrome Association. Bob developed his IT skills at Curnow Special School in moonlight sessions with the then head of IT in 1991 and has worked since then with Mencap Homes Foundation and The Down's syndrome Association.

Bob has supported IT initiatives with a variety of both special and mainstream schools across the South West and runs workshops for parents and professionals at the Sarah Duffen Centre in Portsmouth and regionally throughout the UK for the DSA and NASEN. Bob has developed and authored software as well as acting in an advisory capacity to a variety of software companies.

Bob is known for approaching IT in a jargon free manner, with an emphasis on enabling students and teachers to use ICT and software effectively without the need for in depth technical knowledge.
