Chris Hopkins
Independent Education Consultant for ICT and Special
Needs
Chris has worked in the field of ICT and special education
since 1982 when she was employed to develop both IT and science in special
schools. As an advisory teacher for IT and special needs she worked with pupils
across the age and ability spectrum and was responsible for developing ICT
resources; providing in-service training; assessing pupils with SEN and
supporting staff in both mainstream and special schools.
She wrote a number of software packages for the BBC computer
and has been very involved in the development of support materials for pupils
with special educational needs.
She has contributed to national and regional conferences and
is an experienced training provider. Her lecturing has included delivering a
DIPSE module on ICT and communication.
For the last two years Chris has worked as an independent
consultant for ICT and Special Needs.
She is a science graduate with postgraduate diplomas in both
education and special education.
