I am currently Headteacher at Marjorie McClure School in
Bromley, which caters for 80 pupils with physical disabilities or medical needs
and associated learning difficulties or sensory impairment.
I have worked previously in special schools for pupils with
moderate, severe or profound learning difficulties (as a senior teacher and
deputy head), in an advisory centre (CENMAC) and in mainstream schools as a
maths teacher and head of ICT.
As an advisory teacher I was responsible for developing ICT
resources; assessing pupils with SEN; supporting staff in mainstream and
special schools; and delivering DIPSE modules in physical disability,
communication difficulties and use of ICT.
Qualifications: PGCE (Maths Secondary), DFPSE (SEN, Written
Language Difficulties), PhD (Curriculum Development), OFSTED (Secondary with
SEN enhancement).
