Paul Nisbet

Joint Coordinator, Communication Aids for language and Learning (CALL) Centre, University of Edinburgh

Paul Nisbet is Joint Coordinator, with Sally Millar, of the Communication Aids for language and Learning (CALL) Centre, at the University of Edinburgh. He has worked with CALL since 1982. The CALL Centre provides services and undertakes research and development into the use of ICT for and by children with special educational needs. Paul undertakes assessment and support to children and staff in schools; and is involved with CALL's programme of courses.

Paul is author of several books dealing with ICT and SEN: testing with Special Technology, Special Access Technology, and Supportive Writing Technology. He is one of the inventors and designers of the award-winning CALL Centre Smart Wheelchair. He is currently leading a project to develop training resources for introducing speech recognition to pupils with special educational needs.
