ICT Advisor for Pupils with SEN, Somerset
"I am the ICT Advisor for pupils with SEN in Somerset, an
authority which has promoting the inclusion of pupils with Severe and Complex
needs into mainstream for several years now, although we still have special
schools (with a slightly reduced population).
I am a member of the South West and South Wales Special
needs Informatoion technology Consultancy (SNITC - awful title I know) that
meets in Bristol once a term.
I was heavily involved with the Talking Computer Project
several years ago which used Talking Pendown on the Archimedes. The concept is
still widely used I hear with other programs and other platforms.
I have a life outside work, although my wife tells me I
spend too much time on the computer at home working. I'm in a folk band (aren't
all teachers!) and am researching my family history."
